COMMUNICATIONS & CUSTOMER SERVICE

  • How can I sign up for Email Updates and Notifications?

You can sign up for regular updates and email notifications by clicking on the Subscribe to our Newsletter under the support section of the navigation at the top of the page.

  • Can you Notify Me when a knife or accessory is back in stock?

Products that are out of stock display a "Notify Me" button instead of an Add To Cart button. If you click on the In Stock Notification and provide your email address, we will send you an email when that particular product is back in stock. Sometimes we are only able to add limited quantities to stock, so if you receive an email notification we encourage you to act quickly so you don’t miss out on the opportunity to buy that knife or accessory.

ABOUT OUR KNIVES

  • Who is Jake Hoback Knives?

We are an American-owned and operated company consisting of patriotic people of faith, including military veterans, previous government employees, scientific technicians, hard-working machinists, and residents of several states. We strive to represent God in the best possible way, and to “Make Tools, Not Trophies.”

  • Why do you put Ps23 and similar inscriptions on your knives?

We are Christians who share our faith, in part, through the inscriptions on our knives. Ps23 stands for "Psalm 23," and is a personal favorite that inspires us in our work:

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.

He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

  • Where are Hoback products made/produced?

We utilize many different avenues and methods to produce our products. Our shop in Idaho has a full set of capabilities to design, make, machine, fit, assemble, finish, clean, inspect, package, ship, sharpen, and repair. We pride ourselves on the quality of our knives and the quality of our customer service, and always seek to exceed the expectations of our dealers and end-customers. As our company has continued to grow, we have been working hard to match our manufacturing capacity with increasing demand. We are in the process of building a new, larger shop in Idaho (near our current shop, and scheduled for completion in the summer of 2022). We also intend to take greater advantage of the global economy to source and/or manufacture many of our parts and products – in countries like Japan, Hong Kong , Finland, China, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Europe, and Canada. We are always looking for better places and ways to do things – with the goal of making the best possible products at prices commensurate with the quality of our designs, the materials we choose, and their overall function.

Occasionally, we are asked where our products are made… While everything is designed by me, personally, and everything we sell comes through or directly from our shop, not everything is 100% made in America. We seek to use the best the world has to offer to make some of the best tools on earth, and sometimes that means we must draw upon global sources – often because domestic sources are unavailable, of poor quality, or are cost prohibitive. We do not disclose the specific names of the companies we source from and/or work with or the countries in which they are located, but we will always commit to producing a superior-quality product at a good price – along with a great warranty and exceptional customer service!

ORDERS AND RETURNS

  • How can I order a knife?

We sell our knives on a first-come, first-served basis (except for Pre-Orders). All of our products that are for sale will be listed on our website. You are welcome to check the site regularly to see what's new. In addition, if you subscribe to our Email Updates, we'll notify you when we are releasing a batch of knives. And if you sign up for our In Stock Notification on a particular product, we'll notify you by email when it's back in stock.

  • What if I need to Change or Cancel my order?

Send an email to JakeHobackKnives@outlook.com if you need to change or cancel an order. Please reference the order number and give us specific instructions.

  • How do Pre-Orders work?

Some knives are made in limited quantity, and we take Pre-Orders in an attempt to meet everybody's requests for a specific knife. Depending on the knife run, either a partial payment or payment in full will be required in advance, and we specify the date when we expect to be able to ship orders. We do our very best to provide accurate forecasts of ship dates, but occasionally there are delays in machining and manufacturing. A Pre-Order assures you that you will receive a knife from the expected batch of knives.

  • Can you Customize my knife?

We do not customize knives. This includes changing colors, finishes, blade shapes, inserts, and inlays. On our Accessories page, we have parts available for limited customization that you can do on your own, and we show you how to install them on our Videos page.

If you would like a custom made knife, please see our custom Knives page

Www.HobackCustoms.Com

  • Can I get Custom Accessories Installed before shipment?

Given the volume of requests for customization we receive, we have limited ability to offer the service of installing them prior to shipment. On our Accessories page, we have pocket clips, backspacers, pivots, HRDs, and other parts available for do-it-yourself customization. We show you how to install them on our Videos page.

  • What Dealers are authorized to sell your knives?

We currently only sell direct to consumer. We do this, as we feel it allows us to better represent the brand, the products we produce, and what it stands for.

  • Is there a discount available to Military and Law Enforcement personnel?

We offer a 10% discount to all Active-Duty and Retired military and law enforcement personnel. Get the details on applying for the discount here Military & Law Enforcement Personnel. Please note that our discount applies to those personnel retired or currently serving in the military (including all branches of the armed forces, the National Guard, and the Coast Guard) or in law enforcement (including Homeland Security and Border Patrol).

MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

  • What is your Warranty?

Knives from Jake Hoback Knives are built to last. But, if for some reason your knife is defective due to materials or workmanship, you can return it to us for repair.

We will repair your knife, including parts and labor, or replace it with a new knife at our discretion for a period of 10 years (from manufacturing date). Repair is not always possible or practical. We will replace your knife with the same knife or one that is comparable (if the same knife is no longer available).

If your knife has sentimental value, please decide whether you want to send it to us for repair. If the problem with your knife is significant, there is the possibility that we may need to replace it. We will not return a defective knife that must be replaced. We do this so there are no defective knives in the field. All of our warranty information can be found at Warranty & Repairs.

  • What kind of Maintenance do you recommend for my knife?

We recommend routine maintenance to keep your knife in excellent condition and working order (even if you don’t use the knife on a regular basis). Please visit our Videos page for an assortment of instructional videos on Adjusting, Maintaining, and Repairing your knife Videos.
